Georgia Tech-Lorraine and the Metz Community

In today’s global economy, it's imperative for students to develop a greater cross-cultural understanding and global perspective. At Georgia Tech-Lorraine, we encourage students to take advantage of their time in Metz to create a personalized, international experience through campus activities, immersion opportunities, and experiencing firsthand, the french and European culture.
A New York Times Must See
Today, Metz, a city recently named by the New York Times as one the top 44 places to see in the world, is a thriving arts community as evidenced by the new Pompidou Center.
Central European Location
Lorraine is the only region in France to share its borders with 3 European countries (Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg), which makes it ideal for travel. Also, thanks to the new high-speed TGV, Metz is a little over an hour away from Paris, and most of Europe is conveniently accessible from the Metz railway hub.
Metz: What to See and Do
Metz offers students an abundance of activities including FC Metz football, dining options, museums and cultural events around the city. For more information, we encourage you to visit the City of Metz website.
