President's Welcome

When I see the transformation of our students as they combine their Georgia Tech education with a cultural experience of a lifetime, living abroad, discovering Europe, making lasting international friendships, being challenged with internships or research in a truly global environment, I know we are indeed preparing our students for the 21st century. The Georgia Tech-Lorraine experience often enables our students to build confidence and develop leadership qualities that will last a lifetime.
In recent years, the growth of Georgia Tech-Lorraine has been fueled in many ways by the many successes of the UMI, a truly unique international joint laboratory (Unité Mixte Internationale) between the Georgia Institute of Technology and the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) providig a stimulating exchange of students, researchers, faculty, and new ideas for joint proposals in some strategic areas of new technologies with significant funding from public and industrial sources.
The faculty and staff of Georgia Tech-Lorraine deeply care about the extraordinary mission and duties we have, both for the Region of Lorraine and the State of Georgia, building innovative EU/US partnerships that are mutually enriching, in education, research, and economic development. The opportunities are indeed incredible! Georgia Tech-Lorraine is in many ways unique and perfectly positioned to seize those opportunities. It is an exciting time for Georgia Tech-Lorraine.
