About Us

BdE stands for “Bureau des Étudiants”, the French name for Student Government. The GTL BdE is in fact the AEGTL (Association des Eleves de Georgia Tech Lorraine), a non-profit “Loi 1901” organization. It organizes events throughout the year and makes the link between students and faculty or administration members. Every student is a member of the association, but some of them, called “active members”, get involved in the organization of the events. Among them are the 5 “Bureau” members: president, vice-president ME, vice-president ECE, treasurer and secretary. They are the ones that are legally in charge.

As the student body is composed of French, American, Indian, Chinese, Italian and other nationalities from around the world, the BdE is a melting-pot of students of very different origins. GTL and its BdE facilitate a chance for the students and staff  to blend with other cultures and have a truly multi-cultural experience, and have fun along the way!

The BdE is elected at the beginning of the year, after 4 or 5 weeks of class, and is in charge for one year. The following links will take you to the latest teams and information about their work.
