  • UMI Imaging Lab New UMI Research Laboratory

    A THz Imaging and Spectroscopy lab has been created at the UMI Georgia Tech-CNRS research center.This lab will image with a sub-millimetric resolution, polymers, ceramics and dielectrics as bulk coatings or fabricated structures as well as composite materials.  The lab is funded by the FEDER, the Conseil Regional of Lorraine, and Georgia Tech.

  • Abdallah Ougazzaden with French President Hollande Mirror Lab of GT-CNRS Laboratory Established in Morocco

    On April 4, 2013, during the state visit of  French President Francois Hollande with the Crown Prince of Morocco, King Mohammed VI  a letter of intention was signed, establishing a mirror laboratory of the Unité Mixte Internationale GeorgiaTech-CNRS in Morocco. The International  University of Rabat in Morocco,  the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Centre Nationale de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). are the primary partners in this new endeavor.

     

  • Abdallah Ougazzaden Abdallah Ougazzaden, Director of GTL Receives Prestigious Award

    On March 13, it was announced that Abdallah Ougazzaden, director of GTL was named the recipient of the 2013 Steven A. Denning Faculty Award for Global Engagement. He was given this award because of the breadth and depth of his global activities, and by his tireless efforts to develop and promote GT in France and abroad.

  • Laurent Capolungo GTL Professor Laurent Capolungo Recognized for Teaching Excellence

    Laurent Capolungo, professor of mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech-Lorraine received the 2013 Lockheed Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award.

  • Nanotechnology journal , issue 45, volume 23, cover page Progress in the UMI on novel materials solar cells

    A paper describing a new method that quantifies the chemical information “coded” in HAADF-STEM image and the results of its applications has been published in Nanotechnology journal, where the innovative character of the method prompted the editors to chose the paper for the cover of issue 45 of volume 23 of the journal.
